I had the same procedure. I did not have to go back to work but if I had to,  I probably wouldn't have felt comfortable until about 3-4 weeks. Even then I was still very sore. The muscle tightening will have you hunched over and your movements are kind of slow and deliberate. As far as pain, that's a tough one to answer. We all have such such different pain tolerances. I didn't think the pain was that bad. I took my pain meds faithfully and didn't have any times that I felt it was unbearable. I have a pretty high threshold for pain. It really helps to get up and walk around as much as possible to start getting those muscles working again. The more you sit idle the tighter you'll feel.

I just had this in Sept 22.
it will be pain for sure, but it is managble with pills.
first day in hospital I used my pump alot, then next day they took it away and put me in percoset.
I like it, I slept alot between walks.
Walk was a bit hard because muscles tight.I had 2 drains, one was removed in 10 days and second one in 3 weeks.
I still have liquid build up and get taken it by needle by my PS.
I went to work in 3 weeks and boy how hard itis to sit 8 hours.I am very swolen in the end of the day, i have my bindr 24/7 but still swolen. It should get better.
I can not say i like my TT yet, but it better for sure then before.
good luck,
Alla

I will be year out on November 27th.  I had full anchor tummy tuck and I was out of work for 3 weeks.  First few days were rough, but stay on top of your meds and  listen to your body, get plenty of rest ..stay active, dont forget to walk especially after surgery.. a coworker of mine threw  a blood clot 3 days post op and died from Gastric bypass.. she never got out of the bed !
Best Wishes!
Natalie

I just had mine on Oct 5th, so I'm exactly two weeks out today.  I had one drain out last Friday, and the second out today.  My sutures are completely closed, everything looks wonderful and I haven't needed pain meds for days.  I firmly believe that the main reason for my success is that I had NO ONE to do everything for me.  Otherwise I would still be sitting in my recliner or creeping around my house.  I own and operate my own business- and although I hired in some help over the past two weeks, I had to pull it together and get things rolling over the past week.  I also have four kids, and still had to get up every morning, make ponytails and check homework.  I didn't really drive until this week, but every day I've had to be up and moving around...and I think that it really made a difference.    Of course, I'm only 36- with no current health issues and a history of quick healing, so things are different for everyone...but I could absolutely go work a desk job next Monday morning and feel fine.

Hi Angie,

I am 4 weeks out as of tomorrow (Wednesday), the first week was the worse as far as pain and soreness. My pain has decreased dramatically, each week unless I over due it.

I kept up on my pain meds (every 4 hours) so I know that helped. Also don't plan to go back to wor****il last week of Oct or first week of Nov. (I am working from home right now). I still have one drain in also, hopefully will be removed tomorrow.

Hope this helps, you can look at my pictures password is jason
