Pics of Inner Thigh Incisions 1 yr. Post-Op
Thank you. I tried to be very careful and cautious until my incisions healed. I was fortunate that I never had any wound separation. I also used alot of bio oil and vitamin e oil and massaged my incisions twice a day for about 3 months. I also wore compression that entire time 24 hrs a day.
I hope a 3rd time is a charm for you!

I know why my scars got bad the first time...I was having some problems and lost 20 pounds after plastics, and it is not possible to heal correctly while losing weight. The second time I don't know why they got wide. Perhaps not enough protein.
Both previous times the scars did not stretch and get wide until 2-3 months out. They looked perfect initially. I plan on Bio-Oil and maybe steri-strips for 6 months. what kind of compression did you use? The surgical garments, if they're tight enough in the thighs to do any good, then they don't fit my hips.

I woke up from surgery in a very tight compression garment. It was a to the knee girdle type with hook and eye latches on the side along with zippers. It had an open crotch for using the potty. I wore that faithfully for about 3 weeks. After that I bought a step dpwn compression type garmnt. It was also a girdle made by Flexees and I got it from Kohls. It also had the open crotch design but by 3 weeks it really wasn't necessary. I never went without compression with the exception of showering and the time spent massaging my scars.

As soon as my surgeon removed my steri-strips I started with polysporin. I used that in conjunction with Bio-Oil and Vitamin E oil and I massaged and rubbed it twice a day. I think the biggest factior is the massaging. It keeps the scar soft and supple and helps to flatten it out. I also wore compression for at least 3 months 24 hrs a day. I also have friends who have used the silicone scar sheets and have loved their results. I never used them myself.
