hello! my name is Jaimee... ive never been on this board before.. i mostly "lurk" on the graduates form and the 20's form. ..  i lost 140 lbs in 7 months after my surgery (which was 2 years ago) so ive been way under my goal for over a year and im ready for PS.

i REALLY want a tummy tuck.. but i have no had children yet so i figure its not a good idea and i should wait for that.  but i want to have my thighs and breast redone (i already had implants 7 years ago)       my question is.. i have 2 options for the thigh lift.. i can either do the horizonal cut in the bikini line and my legs will be BETTER with no scar visable.. or i can do the full vertical cut from the top to the knee and have perfect legs with a big scar? lol.. so idk what to do!! im leaning towards the full cut.   does anyone have this surgery and could let me know or show me pictures or how bad the scar is? and if people really notice it? is it worth it?

I had the cut in the groin and into my butt cheeks and the incision down the thigh as well. Mine did not have to go all the way to my knee. I got the better result by having both incisions. I have pictures on my profile if you care to look. My scars have really faded nicely and now that I'm a year out and have a tan they are not noticable at all. I have absolutlely no regrets.

So when you wear shorts, do people notice the scars at all?  The photos of your incisions are from 14 weeks post op (if I remember correctly), have the scars faded significantly more than that?

I'm curious since my thighs are my biggest concern, but I don't want to trade sagging fat for scars that I'm equally self conscious about.  (Read:  I want to be able to wear shorts!)  I realize that everyone heals differently, so I will account for that.  It's just that you don't usually get to see what the scars look like at say, a year or two out.  Thanks for being such a consistent poster here, your experience is invaluable!

Yes, I would say that my scars have faded quite a bit more. When I wear shorts they hit me about mid-thigh. I have very little of my scar actually exposed and I'd have to point my scar out to you to even notice it. It's strategically placed on the inside of my thigh and unless I sit spread eagle...LOL it's not very noticeable. I go to the gym everyday in shorts and no one has ever given me a second look. I'll try to take some updated pictures of my scars over the weekend and I'll let you see them.

I too am very interested in the pros and cons of this procedure...and thanks so much to Renee for posting her photos....they are so helpful!  I am set to do something in December...just have to decide what it will be.  I'm a week out from my TT, and am hoping to be back up to speed by then so that I'm able to take it head on.  So please, anyone who can add to this please do- even if you've answered similar questions before...thanks for your help!

If you read back on Dr Lo's posts he had one recently on this topic.
I thought his post was very helpful being my thighs are my biggest problem area.

I'm about 4 months out from my thigh lift - I have the horizontal scar and the vertical scar down the inside of the thigh all the way to the knee.  I need to post pics.  The scars are still quite pink but I don't think I'd have a problem wearing shorts if I wanted to - I'd much rather have this scar than the skin flapping wildly when I walk and my shorts riding up from them rubbing together.
