Anyone have encapsulated breast?

I don't know if I have one or not, but its bothering me!  My breast were difference sizes, so one has a bigger implant.  I was ok with that since they look the same now.  But, the one that has a bigger implant is not softening up nor is it dropping.  I massage and massage but the bigger one refuses to move!  Not painful, just very hard and tough.  I went for a check up last week and told my Dr. the concerns.  He was not worried at all and said my muscle was taking a while to soften (mine are under) and therefore, 'clenching' the implant.  Told me to massage like crazy and take Vitamin E.  I Googled (I know, shame on me) encapsulated and I swear that's what I had/have!  The Vitmain E has worked wonders with the massaging b/c now, my implant actually moves under the skin and it is softening, but it still isn't natural feeling like the other.

So, was mine trying to get encapsulized?  Or was it being stubborn and just not softening up?  It's still far from normal so I don't know what to expect.  I'm taking 1200iu (or whatever that is) of the Vitamin E and I noticed a difference immediately.  I can also feel a slight clicking when I massage.  Is that strange?  The other breast moves and feels as if its my real breast. (I'm about 2 months post op)

I can't help you very much with this, but I believe you should talk to your doctor again about your fear of encapsulation... but maybe it's just that one breast is more bruised than the other and will take an extra time to be ok and more natural, sometimes it happens (both sides of our body don't always respond to a surgery in the same way, I think). Or maybe it's just seroma or a little hematoma your body will absorb... anyway: even if it is encapsulation (but let's hope it's not!!) it has a solution , so don't worry, just give time to time and talk to your doctor.

Hi Andrea,

I don't have an answer or advice for your situation other than do what your surgeon says.  I'm responding because of something that you mentioned in your post.  I had a BL without implants 3 months ago today, and I have some scarring and more "firmness" to the left breast than the right.  The right side has softened and settled very nicely.  The left side is still coming along but much slower.  Well at my last post-op appointment 2 days ago, my surgeon suggested that I orally take Vitamin E capsules - 1000iu.  To hear you say that you noticed an immediate difference after taking the vitamins made me feel so good about the advice that my surgeon gave me.  Although I trust him without hesitation ever, your comment gave me hope that I will soon see the results that I'm waiting on!  Thank you so very much for sharing your experience!

I pray that all works out for you, and that we'll both find ourselves VERY HAPPY with our final results!

Best regards,
Rose

Rose, I'm still taking the Vitamin E and still noticing a difference!  In fact, it's just about as soft as the other, but it still doesn't move around as much (or flop like the other one lol...)  The top portion, where my muscle is, is still firm and I massage like crazy.  I massage every time I get to and when my Dr. showed me, he squeeze so much it was painful!  So, I've just gotten to where I've got to toughen up and squeeze hard, and push down.  Keep it up, it will soon soften!!!!  He also said that b/c I'm right handed, that muscle naturally clenches more.  He said do arm streches to strech your pectoral muscle.
