Have you had this happen, and if so, how did you handle it?

I was staying at a recovery retreat when a woman I had met briefly only online here, came by my room to introduce herself.
She said since she has had a similar procedure, would I mind showing her my incisions. Umm, I was days out from a lbl, and my scars went around me, and down both side of my groin, and then down each thigh.
I was naked under a sheet, trying to keep incisions dry, and warned her most incisions were in the groin, and she said she knew, so I figured "you asked for it, retinas be damned!" and whipped off that sheet.
My fiance was sitting right there by the bed, and was astounded she'd ask, and more astounded I'd show her, but he thought it was funny.
Now, I'm normally a VERY modest person, but you tend to give up pride and modesty with plastic surgeons and the aftercare people that are bathing you and tending your incisions, no matter where they are.

I'm usually a private person too but that's why I use the context of the situation to determine my answer. If it's blatently rude then my response is more on the "you show me yours, I'll show you mine" line.
If it's out of curiosity, then I'll be honest about it.
Poor guy that escorted me out of the hospital after my thighs and breasts... he saw my legs wrapped and asked if it was knee replacement. I said "no thigh lift and breast implants."
We get to the first floor and the hall to the exit had the lights out and he thought he was going the wrong way. When he said "oh the lights are out and it looks different" I said "well I got headlights now."
Silence from him but DH laughed. When we got to the entrance area, he asked "did you really have all that done?" So then we talked about everything. He was really nice about it.

I am pretty relaxed about showing my scars to people I know and those may have a legitimate reason to see my scars. I think all of the women at our support group have seen them. For me in that context it is all about paying it forward and education. A lot of people have never, ever seen a real live person who have had these procedures and let's face it some of the pictures on the web are pretty scary. Now when it comes to someone who is just curious -- I would probably just say no and certainly in a professional setting it would be inappropriate.
