Has anyone had any personal experience with this doctor? I am considering him for a lower thigh lift in December. Please let me know about your experiences!

Also, what type of clothing did you wear after thigh lift? shorts? pajama pants? gowns? Is there anything I need to start buying to be prepared for this procedure?

Thanks!- Amanda

I don't know anything about him.  Dr. Kim in Colleyville recommends Dr. Rumalla as a PS.  He gave a talk to our support group last week and I really liked him.  He really enjoys working on bariatric patients.  Also I work with a lady who had Breast cancer and Dr. Rumalla is also her PS and she is very happy with him.  I think he has offices in Keller and Fort Worth.

I don't know about the ps.

But for my thigh lift around the house I wore shorts with loose leg openings so they'd go over my drains easily.  When I went out, I wore baggy-legged work out capris to hide the drains not freak out the little kids or get a lot of questions from seniors.

When I would wash up while I had the drains (my ps didn't want me showering with the drains in) I used a belt and a scarf tied to each side so that I could pin the drains to the scarves.  Other than that I'd be completely naked so that I could clean all of the incisions thoroughly without worry of the drains pulling.

Hi,

Dr. Kasden is terrific.  He did my inner thigh lift about 2 1/2 weeks ago. He did a wonderful job and I am already back at work.  This is my third surgery with Dr. Kasden and I am thrilled with the results. I will have at least one more plastic surgery and he will be performing it as well.

For the first two weeks after my thigh lift,  I wore loose fitting soft clothes. He put me in a compression garment this week and then I just wear loose fitting pants over it now that I am at work.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for the info! Do you have any pictures up? I'm nervous b/c this is my first plastics procedure. I'm hoping to have a lbl and breast lift with him as well.

After your thigh lift, how long was it until you felt like you could get up and walk around without too much pain?

Is there anything in particular I need to make sure I have at home to aide in my recovery?

thanks!

Sorry no pictures up.

My first procedure with Dr. Kasden was a tummy tuck combined with a hernia repair (another surgeon did the hernia portion). Took 4 weeks off but could have gone back to work after 3. My second was the back half of a lbl and an arm lift at the same time, this time took 2 weeks off of work.
After my thigh surgery, I still have some discomfort (at not quite 3 weeks out)  so I take things slow but have been off of narcotic pain meds since about 1.5 weeks out. And I drove two days after the last narcotics.

I have a recliner so have slept in it since coming home from surgery and it has been lots easier for me than getting in/out of a bed. Plus I can more easily elevate my legs which has been super important for me as I swell a lot. The swelling is already going way down though due to the compression garment Dr. Kasden put me in last week.

Be prepared to have drains as Dr. Kasden uses them but they really aren't that big of a deal.

I installed a toilet seat riser which has been super helpful. I also had bath wipes in addition to baby wipes because no showering until drains are out. I also purchased the bed/chair pads and sat on those when first home just in case of any drainage. Those were only needed the first few days then the drainage cleared up.

Make sure to up your vitamins, iron, and protein both before and after surgery as it really helps in a quicker recovery.

That's all I can think of right now.

Good luck with your surgeries, Dr. Kasden it terrific and really cares about his patients. Again, let me know if you have any more questions.

I was wondering how you are doing at this point after your thigh lift. Are you still in compression garments? Are you back to normal?

I had an incision open up a little bit so my healing is a little slower than yours was. But he did great work!

Glad he did a great job for you.

I am doing really well. I did have a small opening in the groin area, but it healed up quickly and everything looks great.

I do sometimes wear my compression garment but it has not been required for quite a while. (I have RLS and my meds for that cause swelling and the garments help with that too which is why I still wear them)

I would do it again in a heartbeat and am looking forward to my next surgery with Dr. Kasden. I am so thankful I found such a skilled surgeon who is kind and compassionate as well.

Take care,
Paula
