I finally got my body back!!!
Well, I'd say on a scale of 1 to 10 my pain was never above a 3 and that was immediately post op and the following day as well. Yesterday I quit using the pain pump at about 6AM and took only 3 doses of Vicodin throughout the day and switched over to ibuprofen last night at 10 and haven't needed anything but that. I was on Dilaudid in the hosp (pain pump) and didn't really use it too much. I literally have zero pain. I'm able to cough and laugh with no pain. Went downstairs in the hotel I'm staying at and had dinner last night. I thought I'd wake up in the middle of the night needing something but no...only needed ibuprofen and it's mostly for my back from being hunched over. I can only attribute this to exercising like a freak for the past 15 years and going into surgery in tip top athletic shape...I dunno. I feel extremely blessed. Good luck on your upcoming surgery.

Laura, I agree totally about the physical conditioning. I just can't say enough how valuable it is to be in great cardio shape going into ps, especially for those of us who are 40+. It doesn't mean you absolutely won't have any obstacles, but for most of us, it's the most valuable thing we can do for ourselves to bring out the best outcome.
Well it's the only explanation I have for feeling so great this soon out. I've not required narcotics at all since I left the hospital yesterday afternoon. I'm on 600mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours or so and not for pain but doing it to help keep the swelling at bay. I seriously have zero pain...no kidding. I'm still pinching myself...just can't believe it! But I won't complain. Keep up the gym work. It'll pay off in the long run...you'll see : )
