tummy tuck issue
Hi,
I had my extended TT on september 22. Everything is good, except I still have 1 drain in.
I was thinking maybe taking our DS vitamins can prevent my drain to stop?
It is draining like 100 cc per 12 hours , and I am more then 2 weeks out.
I am going nuts with this drain.
Anybody had this issue? any trick to stop this drain? Please help....
Thank you,
alla

I know the drain is a PIA but you want to keep on draining especially if have fluid inside. It is better to come out then stay in. I had to much fluid in my thighs and the wound split so all the fluid could come out cause I had no drain.
he took my TT drain out after 3 weeks cause he said it was in to long and I could get an infection then I had to have my belly aspirated 3 times. That is when they stick a needle in your belly to drain out the fluid.
so let the drain , drain

I had my lbl 2 days before your surgery. I had my doc pull the drains one week after, even though one was still pulling quite a bit. (Please don't flame me, I just choose / chose what I wanted.)
My drains were SOOO PAINFUL, and hurt like the dickins any time I moved. The previous poster is correct, by doing so, I go every two days to have the needle inserted and it drained out. The first time he did this, he took about 1 liter. Today was only 80 cc. I will go again Tuesday.
All that being said, I prefer the needle draining over the JP drains. He sticks in where the nerve endings have not come on, so no pain for me.
