medial thigh lift with lipo
I didn't have an lbl but I did have an extended tummy tuck with muscle repair. For me the thigh lift with lipo was a more challenging recovery. I had incisions in my groin that wrapped up into my butt cheeks as well as the long incision going down the thigh. Mine didn't have to be extended to the knee. I personally would not have been comfortable going back to work after 2 weeks. The lipo leaves you very sore and battered. I think at 2 weeks I was still keeping maxi pads taped to my incisions to catch any leakage and to keep the polysporin smeared in place.

The thighs were more challenging for me as well. The lbl wasn't nearly as difficult as I expected. The thighs I thought would be easier.
Initially the pain was worse for the first few days with getting up and down. Then I had issues with the drain in the right leg. I ended up with a seroma in the right leg. I thought that was the end of it. However, I also had a seroma in the left leg that we hoped would have reabsorbed on it's own. It hasn't. I'm going to see my ps tomorrow for a 3rd aspiration, or possibly to just open it up and drain/pack it. If I were his typical patient, he would see me twice a week for aspirations. However, I'm not his typcial patient, since I travel for work and am only home on weekends. My ps is awesome in that he he opens his office for me on Friday nights or Saturdays so he can take care of me.
As for work, I was able to return to work after two weeks BUT only if I would work from home for two weeks. Because of the air travel he did not want me on a plane just yet. Not so much for blood clots but because of the discomfort I would face while sitting and limited mobility in a plane.
If you can plan to take more time off, I would suggest that. It's easier to go back earlier rather than try to extend the time, especially if short term disability is involved.

I had it all except my breasts done cause they didnt need to be done. tat being said arms was the easiest but the thighs were the worst. I had a wound seperation on my thighs that is still healing after 6 weeks, they look great wold I do it again, yes I would but I wasnt able to sit in a chair for hrs after 2 weeks, hope u are luckier then I was. I had no infection.
a LBL is not the same as a medial thigh lift. LBL is nothing compared to the thigh lift. but am I glad that I did it YOU BET. I just deal with it, actually there isno pain except when I sit for long periods of time, I can walk & stand forever
