Pictures of incisions for side boob skin?

This has been an ongoing process for me. My original lift with implants seemed to take care of that extra skin. As time went on my implants shifted laterally. I went back in for a bi-lateral capsulorrhaphy. That procedure put my implants back where they needed to be and I'm thrilled with the results. However, now that the implants are in place it has allowed that extra skin to reappear and it hangs over my bra line. I just don't like it and I'm trying to make sure I'm not going to end up with horrible scars. I tend to scar nicely and these scars look like they heal without a lot of tension being on them. I'll keep you posted and thanks for your help!

You describe a common problem I see.  The impants will aturally move to the area where the skin is loosest, but very few women appreciate boobs in their armpits !

As I mentioned, smaller amounts can be done with a side of chest incision but folds that go way back onto the back need that bra-line incision.  Lucky individuals who scar well are the best candidates for these procedures !

Hi Dr. L

I had a BL without implants on July 14th. I will have to have a little revivision to the incision line under my left breast to get rid of the tiny "dog ears" on both sides where the incision ends. I'm also going to ask my surgeon to get rid of my little "side boobs". My questions is that, is this a procedure that can be done in his on-site surgery/procedure room under local anesthesia? I've had numerous procedures done under general anesthesia/in hopital, and I would love to avoid going through that long process if at all possible.

What do you think, and what would you recommend? I hope that I've explained my question clearly. I do value your advice!

Thanks so much for your expert and generous advice!

Always,
Rose

Dr L.

Would that still be the case..scar going up under breast to the back of arm with an anchor breast lift? Have these patients had the anchor...I thought they would have been more of a lifted look some still look a bit saggy. thx

Renee,

Is this possible problem eliminated if you get a body lift w/boob work?

Hi Dot,
I am almost positive that it is taken care of with an upper body lift. I know for some women that don't have too much excess in that area it is resolved with either the extended incision from a brachioplasty or it's done in conjunction with their breast lift. A lot of times just having a lift or having an implant will take up that excess skin. I just happen to have too much of for my lift to correct it.
