insurance coverage and types of surgery

I have United Healthcare. They will cover certain types of plastic or reconstructive surgery as long as I have a medical reason and documentation showing I tried other methods first. Also you have to be careful with the wording you use on the type of surgery you want. For my breast I started going to the doctor to complain about the rashes I get and the odor and rawness from my bras. I also got a presciption for the rash on the skin on my lower stomach. This is to get the skin removed and a lift with possible implants because I won't hardly any breast tissue after surgery. Now I'm wondering about my butt. I would like to get a butt lift covered. Has anyone had luck with getting this covered? If so What exactly did you have done and what type of medical reason did you have?

I have United Healthcare and the policy we have does not cover any plastics unless it's related to breast reconstruction due to cancer.

Good luck with getting the butt lift coverage.

It can happen, especially with proper documentation.  Check my website under Patient Resources for links ot the companies policy pages and other hints at:
