One month post-TT and breast reduction/lift and some major WOWs
It's been 4 weeks since my tummy tuck and mastopexy (breast reduction with lift) and I wanted to post a quick update for those looking forward to the continuation of this journey!
This is a photo where you can really see my chest & panni in full motion - ick! And what's really funny is that when I first saw this pics, I noticed the skin but it was me... now, I have a hard time remembering how much skin was there!
I saw my surgeon today and I've been released from my weekly visits - I don't see him again until Halloween! Woo!
Some quick stats:
Wt at surgery was 190. Wt today 179 (which officially puts me at 160 lbs lost and within 4 lbs of my goal)
I went shopping with a friend yesterday and bought a pair of size 14 reg cargo pants. And I have to say I rocked them!
Today, I bought a bikini - yep a 2 piece bathing suit. My family & I are going to Walt Disney World all together for the first time in November and I am going to wear this bikini! Best part was that I got it at Loblaws for $1.97/pc. Yep a $4 bikini. Woo!
The surgeon has also released me in 2 weeks to full activity including the gym. I feel like a slug and I cannot wait to get back in the gym. Yep - me - I am anxious to get back. LOL Who would have "thunk" it. So I stopped at the Running Room on the way home from the docs when I realized that none of my sports bras would fit. I bought a cute blue sports bra in a 36D - last sports bra purchased? a 38DD that I shoved all my skin and boobs, etc into and hoped for the best. And this bra? I can wear it without a shirt should I so choose. I wandered around the store in it as is with my brand new running skirt. And the skirt is not black - 'cause we "fat" girls (esp. those who are big bottomed/pear shaped girls) always have to hide our biggest assets in black right? Well - it is PINK. And it's awesome! And a size L. In the Running Room.
So I did my little happy dance in a bra and short skirt in the Running Room. Yep - life is now like that I guess. Hard to believe that this is my new life.
PS. Also a note - I lost 100 lbs in the first 6 mths (just) and the rest has been coming off since. I'm hoping for another 10-15 tops. I love my figure and my curves. My plastics doc even said my curves are fierce and that he has people coming in asking for curves so it's been a bit of an ego day. :D
This is without my binder on and I'm a tad swollen in the abdomen after shopping, etc. But I still love not having hanging skin.

Hi Autumn,
I do - just send me a friend request and I'll send you the password for that album.
Pain was really not bad at all. Had moments but really? More "discomfort" than pain. But I'm thinking I have a high pain threshold as I didn't find the VSG too painful either. I was up and walking to the bathroom about 60-90 min after I was back in recovery. I got morphine by IV 2-3 times post-op and it made me really nauseated (and my BP dipped which I didn't like) so I switched over to oral meds fairly quickly. I had percosets. Took them pretty regularly every 4-5 hrs for the first 5 days, then switched to Advil (200mg) during the day with Percs at night only for the rest of the first week. Then I was mostly on Advil as needed which was every 4-6 hrs with some stretches during the day up to 8 hrs. Still felt I needed them at night regularly for about 2 wks.
Have been totally off all pain meds includ. Advil since the 24th of Sept (surgery was Aug 31st). Honestly - I probably could have/should have stopped 4-5 days sooner but I was afraid. And I had a small seroma in my abdomen that I had drained at my surgeons on Sept 16th (about 50 ccs), Sept 24th (25-30 ccs) and on the 30th (maybe 10-15cc max). My stitches were all out by the 24th (the last ones were 3-4 on the vertical part of my breast incisions from my nipples to the base). Should also qualify that I didn't have staples - my surgeon used surgical glue on my TT incision with internal dissolving stitches. I had staples when I had a c-section back in 1999 when my twins were born and they hurt like an SOB coming out and while they were in.

Eight weeks out you should be able to manage the trip - however, you are going to have to stop every 90 minutes to 2 hours to get up and walk. You might also want to ask your ps about wearing running tights for the trip.
I was permitted to return to air travel 4 weeks after my second surgery. My ps wanted me to get up every hour and to wear my running tights. He knows that I get on a plane twice a week for cross country flights and he was fine as long as I did what he asked.
Prior to returning to weekly air travel, I did do a 3 hour car trip and he suggested stopping mid point to walk.
You also want to talk to your ps before you go about a contingency plan should you run into a problem while you're gone. The few minor things that came up with me, he was able to discuss with me on the phone and make arrangements to open his office for me to take care of things on the weekend. But if there's an emergency, you want to know how he wants you to handle things.
