I am still having some swelling, but its mild (I think it is at least, not 100% sure what is swelling and what is new me).  I put on compression in the evening and when I do get a little more swelling.  Is there any reason people know about that I would need to leave it on all the time if it isnt for comfort and my swelling ins mild?

how long ago did u have ur surgery? u should leave it on all the time. what does your PS say to do?
especially in the daytime when u r moving the most so it doesnt swell i n the evening. it also helps to push the skin to adhere to the muscle so I have been told. I had a revision on my thigh and my PS said I really didnt need to wear the garment and my legs swelled so bad, i put the garment back on and it compressed my leg and the fluid came out my incision , now I havent taken them off except to change them and I put another one on and I have no swelling and it is 6 weeks post op. I will probably wear them another 4 weeks. my compression garments r from Marena group.com  they r not like the abdominal binder u get from the hospital those things are annoying. my garments r very comfortable they have to be, I wear them 24/7.
what I have always done after Plastics is measure the area  like the stommach when I had an abdominoplasty and now it is my thighs. I measure everyday and keep a record of it, so I know if it is swollen, cause sometimes i cant tell i think i m having a fat day then i measure and it is the same & my weight is the same so then i know i m just nuts
Good Luck to you

That is great advice!!!  I'm going to do that.  I can identify with the comment about everything being the same so you know you are nuts! LOL

I am 7 or 8 weeks.  I guess it doesnt seem to really effect how much I swell if I wear them or not now.  Sitting in hard chairs really seems to cause swelling the most and no matter if I am wearing compression or not.  But I wear them a good chunk of the time.  I dont remeber what my PS said about how long to wear them, guess I could email.  I just to find they helped with discomfort but really dont have any anymore (if I do i put it on).

I wore some type of compression 24/7 for months because my swelling lingered forever. When I didn't wear it for the day I noticed the swelling sooner in the day. I still wear something during the day since I had lipo a few months ago and my swelling flares up now and then. I'm used to it so it doesn't bother me, plus I think my back looks smoother with it on too. My surgeons didn't require me to wear it past 6 weeks but I wore it because it helped.

Yeah I guess that is the big issue, they dont fit me right because of my body shape and all give me weird buldges.  Some make it so I cant even eat.  So I guess thats why I like mine off.  Beofre I loved them when they made me feel good but now they are just uncomfortable and drive me nuts.

I think you answered you own question.  They don't fit well, they don't really help and they are driving you nuts.  Is there any benefit for you to wear them?  I am so glad you are doing better.  Smiles, Loris
