How far before goal weight did you have brachioplasty and what was the outcome?
I have RNY in 2003, lost 240 lbs in just over a year and was about 40 from goal weight then had three pregnancies in four years, resulting in a gain of about 80 lbs. Now, I'm losing again, but with size G breasts and huge bat wings making my workouts (jogging and swimming) SOOO hard on my neck and back, I opted to undergo breast lift and augmentation and brachioplasty recently. Just praying I didn't do it too soon. I still have (Ideally) about 70-80 pounds to lose.
Tell me your experiences if you've done the same... THANKS!

I waited until goal. I wanted my arms to be as small as possible. I go in three weeks!
That being said - my surgeon tells me that he does arms "loose", because they can swell a lot and cause issues etc. He did say that if I want to "tighten" them more later, a revision is relatively simple (and he wouldn't charge). That it can sometimes be done in-office with a local even.
So - maybe you could ask about revision if things "loosen" up for you? I'd assume with 80lb to lose, some of that will come off your arms. BUT it's all a matter of degrees, right? It surely wouldn't be as bad as what came from losing the 160lbs you already did.

I waited until I was at goal to have my brachio, but it definitely sounds like you made the right decision for YOU. Do what you gotta do to get to your goal weight and if something needs to be revised, you can do it then.
Congrats on your amazing success so far. You CAN do this!!!!

Only you (and your surgeon) know your situation. But from the sounds of it you are right on track. Remember first and foremost most us are in this for the health benefits and if your arms are effecting your health, then I say go for it. If once you reach goal you decide you need a revision, well so be it. Remember we are talking about quality of life here. And while it may not be the norm, it is not all that uncommon for people to have plastics before reaching goal. It all depends on the situation.
I was at goal when I had my arms done. That was almost two years ago but the surgeon left "pones" at my elbows. At the time, she explained. she did not want to extend the scar below the elbow until she saw how I healed. And she wanted me to make the decision whether or not I wished to have the scar extend below the elbow. I have decided and the end of October I will be having a revision to my arms.

I have a long list of general plastic consult questions I will send you tonight or tomorrow. But I think the most important question to ask about arms is scar placement. Take a look at the Iowa city plastics arm pics. Aly and Cram put the scar more toward the bottom and it is not visible from the front. Send mr a pm with your email. I am on my phone and I can't answer pm's.
