and do you come home with drains?  I'm just in the 'looking' phase of this surgery as I have not yet made it to goal yet (I have about 50 lbs to go) but after having two sets of multiples (and breastfeeding them) and wls my breasts are all but gone.

I have not had this yet - but will after I do my TT and it is all paid off!

I went for a consult and my particular surgeon said he does not use drains for this procedure and it is a week recovery... obviously he means off of work!!!

I thinkthe drains varies from surgeon to surgeon and possibly person to person.

I had my ba/bl done in conjunction with a lbl, so mine is a little different. I did have two drains right under the boobies while I was in the hospital, but they never produced much and came out before I left the hospital. My other two drains for the lbl came out at 7 days.

If I'd had just the ba/bl, I think I would have been back to work at about 7 days. As it was, even with a lbl, I was cleared to start some cardio the second week out with limited weights.

I went to see my ps on Thursday.  I'm having a breast and thigh lift on 10/30.  He said recovery would be 2 to 3 weeks but I think most of that is for the thighs to heal.  I asked about drains.  At least for me, no drains for thighs - possibly one for breast depends on how things so.  Most important thing to remember is everyone is different.

I had a bl/ba with my thigh lift.  I returned to work after two weeks, but could only work from home.  I could not return to air travel (which my job requires****il after 4 weeks.  However, that limitation was was only because of the thigh lift.

I did not have any drains with my breast work.

For me, the breasts were easy.  Actually, the only work I had that I thought was challenging was the thigh lift.  Even the LBL where I expected a lot of pain, was not nearly what I expected.

Of course, everyone recovers differently.
