What did you wear post op?

What did you wear immediately post Lbl and outer thigh lipo?
Drs office suggested button up shirt , jogging pants. I wouldn't think elastic at waist would be comfortable.
I was thinking a zip up robe. Or caftan's?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Pam

I brought oversized jammies to the hospital (button up shirt, draw string pants).  They were huge on me pre-op, barely fit post op!  I couldnt even button up all the way down (they now are way way too big and have been given away).  So make sure its large on you.

At home I wore elastic waist skirts and tank tops alot.  I didnt mind the elastic.  I think a zip up robe or caftcan would work too.

I'm going to go thru old clothes see if I have any pre surgery clothes still around.
I have several caftans I can wear around home, but don't think DH will want to see me wear them out of house.
Thank you for ideas. I noticed you had some problems after your surgery?

I have a T-shirt nightgown that comes down to just above the knees. I wore the binder underneath with my 4 (yes 4 grrr) drains pinned to the binder, and went comando - LOL even for my first follow-up visit to the PS. I did put on thigh high socks for the trip to the PS, but the girly parts were fully exposed.

I was told I'd have 4 drains also 2 in front and 1 on each side.
Thigh high socks? Compression stockings?
I'll have binders on my thighs also because of lipo.
Probably have to find me some 2X pullon pants
Try not to embarrass my DH too too much. Lol

Commando it is! Lol

I bought some of those tshirt gowns fromm walmart for about $8 plus a soft fleece zip up robe from JCPenney. I wore that around the house since didn't go anywhere except to the dr for the first couple of weeks. I wore cute summer dresses at first and anything with elastic after that until I could wear normal pants. If your dresses or skirts are long enough they will cover the compression garment that comes to your knee.

I wish I could find some of the longer tshirt gowns. The ones I've bought from walmart hit me mid thigh.
How long did you have to wear compression garment on your thighs. And My06ds you being a dser also, did they give you lovenox or another blood thinner?

You can find what you want at Landsend.com.  Great quality for the price and they come in different lengths and sleeve lengths.  Loris

You must be tall so you'd have to buy those mid calf type for it to cover you up. They gave me lovenox but that had nothing to do with my DS or even that I was a WLS patient. The drs are just being cautious with their patients. That was fine by me because I was more scared of blood clots than I was of the actual surgery.

I wore my compression garment for about 6 weeks I guess. The swelling in my thighs didn't last too long but I didn't have a lot of lipo done. My swelling always hangs around my abdomen.

Thank you for answering, the blood thinners worry me because of the ds malabsorption of fat soluble vitamins.
Does make me feel better to know other dsers had them with no problem.
I'm going to hit the stores this weekend see if I can find in robes and longer t-shirt gowns.

Saw walmart had jogging suits out also.
Buy a couple pair of oversize pants.
Some large safety pins
Ice packs hmmm what else? Lol
