So far so good. I was dehydrated, but that is taken care of.

I think I may have popped a suture; so I'll to in to see plasics doc today

The Pain--OUCH

And he removed 8 lbs of skin / fat.

Drains---my goodness. I'm leaking all over the place. Anyone else experience this?

So good to hear you are through it! And yes, drains are a major pain, but prevent so much in the way of swelling. Here's hoping you will get to say adios to them soon-

Mine was because I had one drain come out on it's own; and the other was that I did pop a suture;and had to have that fixed yesterday.

Rhonda I have been checking this board for the past two days looking for some sign that you are alive and well! ha ha!!!  Why were you dehydrated?  Is that normal?  Just curious so I know what to expect.

Congrats on losing 8 lb! Wow!

my own stupid decision. I have not been good with water drinking for quite some time. I also had been drinking tons of regular coffee. So not normal, and a learning curve for me.

It's funny, he removed 8 lbs; yet I do weigh 1 lb more than the day before surgery.

One tip, get or bring something that you know will sit well with you. At the hospital, I had to keep explaining my surgery and trying to get them to understand that bread is not a good choice for me. I ended up sending hubby to pick up some whole grain crackers instead. Needed for when taking pain meds by mouth

I had a really hard time with food at the hospital too, and beverages.  I cant really drink plain water and full sugar furit juice and so I had to have my family bring me drinks too.

my drains leaked everywhere.  Lord I hated those things.  Someone said something about using pads but I never figured it out.  I just used gauze pads and got leaked on alot.

Congrats!!  Keep drinking and resting!

We ended up taking maxi pads and taping them to the line. That helped.

Congrats on making it through round 1! I never leaked but you can use pads or gauze pads to help from getting it all over you.
