I think these words are often used interchangably.  I'm from Canada - and HERE the difference is that a panni takes off the excess skin - but doesn't do any of the cosmetic stuff (repositioning belly-buttons, tightening muscles, etc.).  A TT does that.  And a TT could also include an anchor cut if necessary.

Might be different in the US.  I'd ask your surgeon EXACTLY what he was going to do and confirm that it is what you want.

Two totally different operations but they vary amongst doctors.  So find out exactly what your doc will actually be doing, and be sure and look at before and after photos with him and ask what your expected results will be.

Panniculectomy
1. Removal of overhanging skin of abdomen
2. Takes 1-3 hours
2. Reimbursement by insurance to doctor is usually $900 - $1200

Abdominoplasty
1. Removal of overhnnging skin of abdomen and hips if needed
2. Reduction and liftting of pubic area
3. Liposuction to refine results on hips and waist. possibly upper abdomen
4. Umbilicoplasty, or new belly button
5. Muscle repair to tighten abdomen, narrow waist,  and correct laxity
6. Low incision placement with attention to detail
7. Takes 3-6 hours
2. Reimbursement to doctor is usually starts at $5000

Now how exactly will the tummy tuck differ from the other procedures?

Thanks in advance
