Plastics Booked!!!
I am soooooooo excited!!
On January 18th, after i finish school I am doing my first round of plastics! I live in the NYC area and am having the procedures done at Mt. Sinai Hospital by a PS that both my bariatric surgeon and a friend (surgical PA who works with him) highly reccommended.
round 1: brachioplasty and breast lift with slight reduction if needed [3-4 weeks for recovery and then...]
round 2: extended tummy tuck (he doesnt think I need the LBL) and he said he will decide if he is doing muscle tightening in the OR- based on what he can feel the abdominal muscles seem strong and he doesnt think they will really need tightening- if he feels that it will make a significant difference in the end result he will do it, but will skip it if not as it will make recovery much harder. I totally trust his judgement to do what is best. I will also be having inner thigh lipo/lift at this time.
The prices quoted to me for both rounds of plastics will be from $16k-$22k total. While the facility fees (OR, recovery and anesthesia @ an hourly rate) will remain the same, his fees are negotiable within the range he provided. First they are submitting everything to insurance to see if they will cover anything (unlikely) and then they will work with me regarding his fees. Truthfully i will gladly pay the full $22k i expected it to be much higher- in NYC at such an awesome hospital.
The best part about the consult was when he told me that I am 'thin' and have good bone structure that will create a nice hour glass figure; he also went on to say that it's obvious I exercise. I am only 27 and have spent most of my life very overweight to super morbidly obese- to hear a medical professional refer to me as thin and tell me how fit i am- I nearly cried in the office.
