post op waist to hip ratio

I am 5 weeks post op and my swelling is coming down.  I did my measurments and they were way off I think.

Hips were 38
Waist was 32!

My pre-op hip was 41, so I am very pleased with the change
But my pre-op waist was 31, so I think its got to be related to swelling that its up

So I guess I am wondering if anyone had a very different waist to hip ratio post op with swelling and if it got closer to normal over time?

I know at 2 wks I can't properly gauge yet but my waist is 2" bigger still than it was pre-op and my hips are down slightly. Still have a 10" difference though so the hour glass is there (makes wearing a binder a little challenging though *sigh*)

I have read & heard annecdotally that you should wait a good 3 months if not 6 before you can say that your body is "settled".

yeah, not super psyched with 6 inches (today it was 7).  I think he did lipo in the back waist, and I had my second operation on my back/hips so it is still sore there.  I think it is still more swollen.  I would LOVE to get my waist down a couple more inches.  Oh well, not complaining, just curious.

Can you imagine that if someone told you 2 years ago that your hips would be 38 and your waist 32 in Sept 2010, what you would have thought?  Yes, miracles do come true!

My hips are 42. My waist is 41.  :::sigh::::

Try to find pants for THAT!

I don't know "how" you measured but I tended to measure between my rolls so my measurement was more true (to me) so I think I've lost like 2 inches MAYBE since surgery but my pants slide on and button, no skin/fat hanging over etc.

I am only 3 weeks out today, but my measurements before and after are exactly the same as yours. I also hope that the waist will come down after the swelling subsides. (I had a fleur de lis TT in order to shrink the waist....hahaha.)
