When to Take the Plunge and Go for Plastics?

Hi all- I am about 9 months post op (Realize Band)- I am down a total of 90 lbs (42 pre-surgery).

I am under 200 lb for the 1st time since grammar school and should be on top of the world- right?  Wrong!  I am thrileld with my weight loss, but frankly my body is a hot mess.  My stomach literally hangs to about my mid thigh - even with rolling it up and stuffing it in some shapeware - it still hangs.  I look fatter than I actually am because I am a hangy mess.  I have had 2 pregnancies (one with triplets and one with a single) and I probably have some muscle issues due to that as well.

On to my question - when do I go to a plastic surgeon and have this taken care of?  I would like to lose another 40 lbs total but cannot stand this body another minute -  I am not looking for 6 pack abs - I just want to hang up the apron already.

Thanks in advance.

Most surgeons prefer and suggest that you maintain a stable weight for about 6 months after reaching your goal. If you have surgery and then continue to lose a lot of weight you will definitely change your plastic surgery results and probably won't be happy with how you look. It's best to get to goal and be finished losing your weight.

Go talk to a Plastic surgeon. You could lose half of your extra weight with skin removal.  I had been at a stable weight for a while but after plastics it kick started a few more pounds. Getting the apron off will make a huge difference.

I wasnt at a stable weight really because I was still slowely losing, but I had gotten to goal quite a bit before surgery and was 18 months post op for my sleeve.  I HATED my apron...and it was huge and bigger on one side then the other (you could tell just by looking!).  I wanted it off a long time ago, it really made me unhappy.  I am glad I waited though.  On the other hand if it was really getting in the way of my life, I might have had it removed and then went to see more about sculpting later on.
