I had the fleur de lis , AKA anchor cut TT , by choice . I'm so glad I did . I didn't have any wound care problems , but I am only one person . I chose this procedure for several reasons . My RNY was open , my scar was not strait & pretty ugly . Having the cut that I did , revised my scar . I had a lot of skin hanging above the waist & on my hips . They can pull skin in , as well as down , with the Anchor cut . Like you , I had one chance . If you really want a specific cut , be clear during your operation prep . Good luck . I hope you have a great surgery & heal quickly .

He gave me a regular one, swearing I was "tight" the day of surgery and that was ALL I needed. He said everything we see now at one week out is swelling. I still see an upper roll, although it seems to be moving down my belly But I have to trust my surgeon. He said I will look like what I did the day of surgery, on the operating table, when he sewed me up. He said I was "tight".

My surgeon is the expert and I just felt funny demanding a fleur de lis when he said it was unnecessary..the only thing that makes me feel better about this is that I am almost 29 and have not had children. I am getting married Dec. 4 and want to have children, so I figure I may want another TT after the children as well as a breast lift/augmentation.

I wish I could tell ya'll what this looks like with ONLY the bikini cut but I am so soon out that I cannot tell myself...but I wish he had given me a fleur de lis for my own piece of mind. Although I am trying my best not to get obsessed with "perfection" because plastic surgery could easily become addictive for me with my personality. He injected free Botox in my forehead when I was under and I LOVE IT! SCARES me how much I love it. I look like an 18 year old doe eyed young girl. And he did so well at the Botox, only giving me a little bit, while I was asleep. And he left some small lines and I can totally move my eyebrows up and down! Super cool   Not Joan Rivers at all LOL

Thanks for the update.  I hope you are pleased with your results.  I'm a lot older than you and know with all of my excess skin I will need the anchor cut.  I want a tiny waist with no chance of a muffin top.

Laura, You and I are the same height and you are SO lucky to have a 27 inch waist and only weigh 140! The lowest I could ever get to was 158 although I was a 6 at that weight which is REALLY odd. Before my surgery I gained muscle up to 177 with clothes on. I DREAMED of being 135 but my body really loved 164. My doctor said I am just genetically not able to get that low (135) because of my frame so I am trying to let that go. I have not seen my tummy today but I am at my 1 week mark. I see that you had a brachio, I had that as well. Did you have any cream or anything you put on the scar? I was really shocked at the size of that scar. I joke with my family that maybe one day I will get a tattoo over it haha With a 27 inch waist BEFORE a TT, I can't even imagine what a perfect waist you would have after!!

Thanks!!  I got down to 132 at one point but my body almost immediately jumped back up to 140.  I think we all have some sort of "set-point" that our bodies gravitate to.  On my arm scars I just used Maderma and silicone strips for my bracchio scars.  They look OK, but are a bit wide.  I need to see if they can be revised.  I know they'll always be there, but I want them as thin as possible.  I think my surgeon did a great job with my arms.  Someday I'll get the rest done.
