Hello everyone!  I hope eveyone is having a wonderful weekend.  I am soon to be 4 weeks post op Abdimnoplasty ( panniculectomy with slight muscle tightening) anchor cut and breast reduction.  I was under the knife for 9 hours.  I did fairly well.  They took off 20lbs of skin!!!!  Yes I said 20 lbs!!!!  My plastic surgeon was amazed at what he could do with my excess skin.  The one thing he did say was that my left side of my body was quite a bit bigger then the right.  My whole body is that way from my head to my toes.  My left breast was much bigger then the right, my left side abdomen had more access skin then the right and my left thigh has more hanging skin then the right.  He said he has never really seen that to this extreeme before.  He said he kept cutting away at that side to get it even with the other and thats why 20lbs was removed.  One downside tho was that I had to get 2 units of blood.  I lost too much tissue with blood supply in it.  I was only in the hospital for 36 hours.  I did however take 3 weeks off work and that seemed to help tons!!!  I am now back to work but I am fairly anemic and very weak and sluggish.  I am loving my new body!!  My boobs are perky for once in my life!!!!  I have a fairly flat stomach for once also!!  I was not at goal weight and on Sept 29th will be my 1 yr post RNY.  I had to pay for the abdimnoplasty but insurance paid for my breast reduction.  I wouldnt change it for the world.  Now if I can only get used to my new reflection in the mirror and the mental aspect of me always thinking Im going to go back to the way i used to be.  I think its post op depression.  I had to throw all my old clothes away and am starting over fresh but only have a few things.  I just wanted to share my story.  Thanks for listening...or reading! lol

Congratulations!!!!!  Thank you so much for sharing your story.  I am curious about one statement you made..."I was not a goal weight"...It sounded past tense so I was curious if that meant you are now at your goal weight.  My goal weight is 145 and I am pushing to get to 155 by my surgery date of Oct 28th so that hopefully if they take 10 lbs of junk then I will hit my goal weight.  Just curious what you meant.  Thanks!  -Amy

So funny, I am much bigger on my left also.  Doc only took of 7 lbs but I also had a blood transfusion (2 weeks later) because of post op bleeding.  We are almost twins lol.  I had a lower body lift and breast lift.  I am almost 5 weeks post op
