Hello evreryone.
On wednesday of this week I go on for surgery. Removal of left ovary and a breast reduction. Two diffrent surgeons. I'm a bit on edge bout the breast reduction. I had my pre-op on Friday and he said i'll more than likely be goin from a DD to a full C. (is that a good size) I'm nervous on recovery time...I really dont want to be out of work no more than 4wks..is that possible? They said i'll be wearing a sports bra for awhile after they take the wrap band off...all tops should be zip or button in front cause lifting my arms will be almost impossible. Please re assure me i'm doing the right thing and that its WORTH IT!!!!!

Bless you!

OK, I'll start off by saying that everyone is different and pain tolerances vary.  I had an extended bilateral mastopexy just last Wed (a lift, not a reduction).  My surgeon said usually it is an overnight stay but was agreeable with my going home the same day if I was stable.  Surgery was supposed to run 3 hours but ran closer to four and I did go home that same day.  I got home at about 6PM and had 2 Percocets, then 2 another dose before bed at about 10PM.  I haven't needed anything but Tylenol for pain since.  Was taking that four times a day but yesterday did fine with three doses.  When my surgeon changed my dressing two days post-op I could lift both arms over my head with no problem.   He was a bit blown away by that but it just goes to show that everyone is different.  I'm not bragging, just letting you know that not everyone has the same pain issues or is so incapacitated.  Oh, and I was a 38C that hung down over my ribcage pre-op and so there was a fair amount of tissue involved.  I have no idea what size I will end up, bigger for sure although there was no augmentation done, just re-arranging my own tissue.   I'm wearing an XLG sport bra and since I have no problem with my arms actually prefer one that doesn't zip up the front.  The girls are sitting a good 3 inches higher now than previously and so far I'm very happy with the results.  Got my fingers crossed that the drains come out at my post-op appointment today as at this point they are what bothers me most (my incisions and drains extend way towards the back and are positioned at the bottom bra-line behind the armpit area.)  Barring anything  funky happening, I plan on going back to work 2 weeks to the day after my surgery, which is what I did after my RNY.   At this point my titties look rather liken Franken-boobs (kinda scary lookin' especially to my hubby!), but I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.  I'm sure I'll be very happy with the end results after it all heals.  Hope this helps.  Good luck to you and best wishes for a successful surgery and speedy recovery!

I had a lower body lift and a breast lift, and besides some discomfort here and theer, my breasts really didnt hurt.  The worst was when the nerves first started to reconnect, I got alot of cold nerve feelings across my chest.  And right now I HAVE NO IDEA WHY but my boobs itch so bad I cant even tell you.  Its crazy!

I was a 36H and went to a 36C.  I am what I would call a "wimp" when it comes to pain.  I was on percoset for about 5 days after my surgery in May.  Then I was on tylenol and ibu for 2-3 weeks after that.  Even with all of that, I was ready to go back to work 10 days - 2 weeks after surgery!  I had a reduction/lift only, no aug.  Even 4 months later, the incision lines are "tender", but I dont regret it for a second!!!!  My back pain was gone instantly out of surgery.  If it wasn't for the sides initially, I wouldn't have had much pain.
