Butt Lift

What exactly is involved with this type of surgery?  Is it painful?  Is there a long recovery?  How long would I have to take off work if I have a sit down job?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Well, it's a big incision, so it depends on how you handle pain. I found the pain not too bad, but not being allowed to sit up straight for 10 days just about killed me. You have to be careful not to put any stress on the incision, especially right in the middle. I spent a lot of time on the couch propped up at an angle. I could not eat that way, but we had bar stools at the kitchen bar, and I'd lean against one of those to eat.

I would take off two weeks if you can.

I had my butt lift in conjunction with my lbl, so it's kind of heard for me to differentiate the pain levels with the various procedures, but, I really didn't have a whole lot of pain overall. Some discomfort, yes, but very tolerable for me. It did take some adjusting to find a comfortable position since I had to watch the incision in the back and in the front.

I am a teacher and had my surgery in the summer so I had plenty of time to recuperate, but I was cleared to start doing a small amount of cardio weights at two weeks out, and I think I could have handled full time work at three weeks out. It wasn't the pain that was difficult, it's just that I was a little tired at the end of most days.

I guess it depends if you augment or not. I had a LBL which lifted my butt seven weeks ago. After the first week there was very little pain. Its been uncomfortable but not painful.I have been released to do whatever by my doctor and went back to work at three weeks. Sitting wasn't bad for me as long as I sat upright at 90 degrees. It put the pressure on my legs more and off my rear.

The butt lift part of my LBL wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. It really didn't affect how I sat too much but I couldn't sit upright for too long at first. I spent a lot of time reclined in a lift chair which was great. Three weeks off is the minimum I would take if it were me. You will still feel tired at the end of the day but it's doable.
