Update from my Tummy Tuck

Well it has been a long while since I've posted. I had my tummy tuck on the 13th and everything went very well.  I, however, developed a blood clot in my leg (one of the risks of any surgery especially this type) and was in the hospital.  I now will be on blood thinners for 6 months and am now wondering if it was worth it.  It was, but it is a very serious risk that sometimes we (I did) overlook.  Luckily I saw the baseball size cyst on my thigh otherwise who knows what could have happened.  Its prolonged my ability to do some things, but for the most part I'm healing very well.  If you are my friend you can see my photos on-line.  Here is a photo..but there are some that only friends can see.

Sorry to hear about the blood clot.  That must have been really scary.  I've seen a few people have to deal with blood clots after their surgery so the risk is there.   My drs put me on lovenox after both my surgeries and I gave myself shots for the first 5 days.  I had no history of clots but it was just a precaution.

You look great too!

I am sorry to hear about your blood clot.  I know it is a risk of surgery, but did you have anything that made you more prone to getting one?  I am glad to hear you are OK.

I am getting ready to have a LBL & BL/BA in a few weeks.  I am still tossing around only doing an extended TT instead of the LBL.  Was your a extended TT?  Just wondering what made you have a butt.  I don't have one now & don't think I will unless I was to get butt implants.  That is not going to happen!

If you could add me as a friend.  I would love to look at your pictures so I can get a better idea of before & afters.  You know as a pre-op you try to look at as many as you can! ;-)

Take care,
Gina

No I wasn't high risk for having blood clots.  Had other surgeries with no complications.  The only thing that was higher risk was being on birth control.  I would recommend if anyone gets this surgery to discuss stopping your pill a month before.  Just as a precaution.  I'm doing okay though.

Yeah, no BC pills for me, so I guess that is a plus.  Thanks for adding me as a friend.  I really appreciate people who are open about posting before & after pics.  I know it is harder for some, but it is really helpful & so encouraging for those of us looking into having PS.

I know what you went through was a scary risk of surgery.  But, I am glad you caught it & got treat ment.  You should be good on the blood thinners.  I hear they are really effective.

Take care!
