When can you swim after surgery?

Today makes 4 weeks post op from TT and BA/BL.  It's still extremely hot here and my parents have a pool.  Just curious of when you can swim again?  My papers don't say, just says no baths immedately after surgery.

I would call your ps and ask.  Your ps may consider the chemicals in the pool too harsh for your incisions.  You might want to double check all of your incisions carefully to make sure that everything is completely closed too.

I agree. I would wait at least 6 weeks. I am 8 weeks out and still have one small hole that is still healing. Pool water can cause infections and the chemicals may be too harsh for you.Just my two cents.

I had to wait for 6 weeks post surgery since my incisions weren't totally closed.

Best to make sure your surgeon clears you.   Everyone made good points
