3 days post op TT and BL...questions...

I've got a routine with my pain meds that is working fabulously and has everything under control so that is awesome...I feel pretty weak and worn out all day though...normal I'm sure...just been drinking lots of fluids and staying on top of getting in some protein....

I took my first shower yesterday...and thank goodness DH was there and we have a built in bench in our shower...as I unwrapped everything I started feeling whoozy...I was sitting down so we just slowly worked through it all and managed to get through it...they want me to shower once every 24 hours...so I showered again today...definitely much better today...I have to admit as itchy and hot the binder was making me and as much as I thought I hated this thing, I couldn't wait to get it back on!!...LOL.

I got a good look at my tummy yesterday and definitely will have to have a revision done...I know the Dr. is aware of it...so I'm not stressing out too much...just a little disappointed that it wasn't all done when I was in there this time....I also got to get a good look at my breasts....I already like em, overall...he did reduce the size of my areola...not sure why...but it looks nice and proportionate so I'm good with it...and I know they will settle in over time and will go down a bit in size, but he assures me I'm a C cup...so that's great too...right now with the swelling i'm squeezing in a D cup support...

A couple questions though...I had some excess skin at the side of my breasts, under my arm, so he made a little longer incision and removed and tightened that too...which is AWESOME...but I am noticing that I am really swollen all the way around to my back...also it seems like my breasts are fairly spaced apart....so kinda like my breasts are off to the side more...and there isn't really cleavage there, more of a valley between them...will they settle in or am I stuck looking like a square...lol...cuz the way it is now, they are kinda pushed to the side and my arms actually jut out because they can't comfortably rest down without bumping the swollen tissue...and when I look in the mirror, I have this little waist then nice hip size...then we go upward and my breasts are kinda seperated and they seem to protrude kinda far out making me look wide up top...will this change over time?...I really don't want to look like spongebob with boobs...lol...the front area has a really nice shape now, even with the swelling and as my daughter put it this morning...hey mom they are standing up...LOL...kids!!! How long does it take for the swelling to go down and for them to settle in...I know quite awhile..but like how long is normal?...and is there anything I should do to keep them from settling apart and off to the sides?

Also, I had been finding it took a little longer to pee since surgery..I'd sit there and even though I needed to go it would take a little bit before I could...is this normal?...it's getting better now, but man what a pain...he did excise some skin in the mons area and gave it a mini lift...so my entire pubic area is really swollen...not sure if that makes a difference...I also had my first BM today since surgery....WOW...never thought it would be that uncomfortable...and it seems like ever since I went, my stomach muscles have tightened down even more and don't want to let up...so I'm actually more hunched over than I was before...who would of thought that was possible...sheesh...lol...normal? or something I should worry about?  I am taking a laxative each night....

One last question...I had a BL done, no implants...and I have no drains...I have 2 from the TT, one coming out on each side of my groin where my thigh connects to my torso...that's it...well I can actually HEAR fluid in my breasts sometimes...it's creeping me out...although my husband thinks it's kind of cool...ick!!!...but when I rise to get off the toilet or out of the chair you can actually hear it sloshing a bit...it's not all the time it does it...just sometimes...and I wasn't sure it was really coming from my breasts until I touched the top of them and they jiggled a little and sure enough you could hear it....is it suppose to do this?...lol...kinda creepy...

Sorry about all the questions...I'm probably concerned for nothing, but thought I'd put it out there anyway...lol...and thanks for any and all advice/help...

I have a follow up with my surgeon on Tuesday....but will page him if it's getting worse...

As for straining with the BM, I wasn't really straining...it was just a lot and was uncomfortable...wasn't really hard or anything....and I mentioned the laxative but forgot to mention they do have me using a stool softner 2x's a day also...

Thanks...

Nina-
I am not a medical professional but the problem with urination sounds like it could be related to the catheter that was put in when you had the surgery.  I do not think it is all that uncommon for folks to develop an irritation or even a UTI.  Definitely talk to your surgeon about it.

Thanks Red...I think you are probably right...and I will also be talking to them about some Diflucan...I was on a z-pac the week before surgery...then they gave me a huge dose of antibiotics in my IV before, during and right after surgery...then he sent me home on Keflex...and sheesh I've developed a yeast infection from hell...grrrr...will probably be one of those that will require me to take 2 or 3 does of the darn Diflucan...I don't get them often, and definitely not bad ones...but in the past with lots of antibiotics I have developed a bad one that wanted to just hang on and hang on...those usually take a couple doses or so of Diflucan...and that's where I think I'm at again...honestly with the pain meds on board, that stupid yeast infection is probably the most uncomfortable part right now....lol

I had a BR/BL done on June 10th and I had 6 pounds taken from the top.  I went from a DDD (F) (and that was AFTER losing 200 pounds) cup to a D cup.  I still have about 40 pounds to my personal goal and I figured a C cup would make me look more deflated once weight started coming off.  As the scarring is healing, my surgeon did a pretty good job.  My areola was very stretched and it is now looking pretty good.

I did not have drains for this surgery either (THANK GOD).  The last drains I had was for RNY and those were a pain even though they were removed before I went home.

The problem I had peeing started about a weeks after surgery.  I had a yeast infection which was due to the antibiotics after surgery that I had to get Flagonyol (not sure if I spelled it right) to get rid of the burning sensation when peeing and I didn't feel like my bladder emptied.  You may want to check with your PCP or urgent care to get a test.  I went to Urgent Care and he did a pelvic after my urine didn't have blood or bacteria in it.

Feel better soon.
