Adequate pain killers in Costa Rica??

I hate OH's search feature !

I recall seeing more than one post when outside the US, they didn't get adequate pain meds after plastics, because they weren't available or legal there.

I'm having plastics next month in CR, and wondering if I need to bring my own, but would rather not.

So, did anyone here have trouble with pain meds (lack of) in CR??

 Hello,
I don't know about CR and pain meds, but was curious on how you decided on a CR surgeon?  May I ask who the surgeon is?
Thanks,
Tony

Of course cost is a huge plus going out of the country, but I also like his work.

I had my weight loss surgery outside the US, because I could shop around for surgeon and care, and feel I got not only a better price, but a top notch surgeon, in a hospital like a five star hotel with one of the lowest infection rates, and and a 4/1 patient nurse ration (I think it's more like 20/1 in the US).

It just made sense to shop around with my plastics as well. There ARE surgeons I would like here too, but when I pay cash, insurance doesn't play any part, so I shop. The surgeons I considered here in WA whose work I like, either cost three times as much, or are limited in what they will do, such as only a panni rather than a TT with belly button, and don't want to combine procedures. When I have a whole list of things I need done, I understand not doing them all at once, but I don't want 10 separate procedures either, so I needed a compromise.

I also liked that this surgeon would use twilight instead of full anesthesia, which my favorite WA surgeons didn't do. Oh, yah, the surgeon is Ronald Pino. I like Dr Sauceda in MX too, but I'm not comfortable with Mexico right now, and I could also combine seeing volcanoes and hatching baby sea turtles if I went to CR, so that cinched it.
