I'm having a thigh lift (and a breast lift) on October 30th.  Any helpful hints on what I need to do to get ready and what to expect afterwards would be appreciated.

I had those two done together, along with a breast augmentation.

The breasts were easy for me.  Manageable pain and very little discomfort.

The thighs were tougher.  Whoever drives you home from the hospital, make sure they have something bigger than a compact car but nothing high either.  We have a compact car and an SUV.  There was no way I could have gotten into the SUV but getting my legs into the compact was a little challenging.  It took me a little bit of time to figure out how to get my legs in, even with the seat all the way back.

Once DH got me home, he had to run out to the pharmacy to get my scripts.  While he was out, I figured out how to get up and down on my own.  I would say practice getting in and out of bed without bending your knees.  Oh, if you're bed is not a low bed then you want make sure where you sleep is either a sofa or a regular bed level.

Oh - because of the thighs you definitely want to get a toilet seat riser.  I didn't need one for my lbl, but the thighs it definitely helped a lot.

You may end up with a drain in each leg.  Did your doctor say you would have drains?  If so, they're are annoying.

geta a good compression garment those ace bandages r for the birds. i got mine from
Marena group .com. it is a crotchless 1 piece it keeps the swelling down which is very important on the legs. i have had everything done  n the legs were the worst . would i do it again yes i  would.
drains r annoying but VERY VERY important they take the fluid out which reduces the swelling and will keep ur incision from splitting
Good luck to you
you will be fine

Thanks so much.  I'm good with the car and the bed and will definitely get a toilet seat riser.
