Question if you had breast aug WITH lift

Since I have a breast augmentation WITH a lift, I have more incisions that the normal breast augmentation.  Mine are still very sore, 2.5 weeks out.  I asked my Dr. if I could massage and he said only the top portion, but not the bottom where my scars are until the scabs fall off.  Question is, when did your Dr. tell you to start massaging?  For how long and how often?  I just don't want to put it off and risk anything.

Your PS will tell you when he wants you to start massaging.  It is important to follow his protocol as all PS' will have their protocol.

That being said, I was given the go-ahead to start massaging probably about two weeks out.  Mine also said to do it at least a couple times a day.  He didn't tell me when to stop, however at every appointment I've had since and in phone conversations, he always asked if I was still massaging.  I see him again in November and will continue to massage until then at which time I'll ask if this is to be a "for the life of the implant" process.  Which if it is, is fine with me because one of the purposes of massage is to prevent encapsultization (sp).

As for massaging after a reduction - I have no idea if that is part of the after care, but if you have a question as to whether or not it is, check with your ps.
