What pain meds were you on after surgery?

Hello just wondering what pain meds you were on after surgery?  I am very concerned about how painful it is going to be.  I am having a tummy tuck and breast lift with augmentation.  How was your pain level and what surgery or surgeries did you have?  Any input is greatly appreciated:)

I was on Vicodin for a few days, then on Tylenol for a few days. Didn't need anything after that. I had a lbl, ba/bl. The pain was very manageable for me- I think I felt more effects from getting all the anesthesia out of my system. That being said, each person is different in their pain tolerance.

I had everything done in two surgeries (it's in my siggy).  For the first few days I was given percocet at my request because I have problems with vicodin.  After the percocet, I used Tylenol for a few days.

Two weeks after my second surgery I had to have part of one of my incisions opened to be drained and packed, since I had returned to work (although it was working from home) I needed to remain coherent during conference calls, so my ps gave me talwin.  That has got to be the worst pain med there is.  I had some of the worst side effects with it.  From what I read about, just as with everything else when it comes with the human body, for some it works well, for others it doesn't.  Turns out the pain from the incision being opened, wasn't bad at all.

I had a tummy tuck in February and went home that day with a pain pump that lasted 4 days (I wore it around my neck and had two tubes that went directly into the incision) and I had percocet which I used at night for about a week to help me sleep.  I felt great.  My suggestion, if you're not already, start exercising especially strengthening your core.

I had an On-Q pump for incisional pain that I had for a couple of days after discharge home from the hospital.  I had Dilaudid pills for pain and Phenergan pills for nausea.  Dilaudid & Morphine make me itch, so I was switched to Lortab.

Pain level was not bad in the hospital, worse at home when the On-Q pump came out, and the first 2-1/2 weeks were pretty uncomfortable.  After that, the 2nd drain was removed and things got MUCH better.

Totally worth all the discomfort!
