Hi!! I was just wondering how you may have decided on what implant or cup size you wanted?  I was told by a few other people I know that have got implants to choose a size bigger than you think you may want? is that true in your opinion? Thank you for any input:)

For starters, don't go by cup size, as in "I want to be a D cup" etc.  Surgeons work in terms of volume and a 400 cc fill on me, could look different on you.  That being said, my ps had a try on bra and sizer implants for me to try.  I started with one size implant in each cup and put my blouse on.  I checked the profile to see what size gave me the profile I liked.  My DH was in the room with me and I got his opinion as well.

I ended up really liking a 375 cc implant, which in order to give me the profile I liked, it was filled to 400 cc.

I would suggest a shirt that fits you properly rather than something too baggy.  As your checking your profile, you don't want to have to worry about pulling your shirt closer to your front, you want to be able to let your arms hang naturally at your side.

Once your implants drop into place, then you can go for a bra fitting and find out your new size.  Right after my surgery I measured at a DD but as they dropped, I'm a D.  And I love love love them.

Thank you Lisa for your reply.  I appreciate the detail about not thinking in cup size and what to where when I am fitting for my size.  I really wasn't sure what to where and I was thinking in cup size and not cc's.  Thanks again:)

There's a lot of things that factor in when choosing. It depends on your frame size, shoulder and hip width and size of your chest cavity. Your surgeon should be able to suggest what he/she thinks would fit your frame and it also depends on your personal preference. Some women want moderate size breasts and some want a little larger. Once my surgeon was in my chest cavity and saw how big it was he found that the smaller implants were being swallowed by my chest. I ended up with larger implants due to that. I also told him that I'd rather come out of surgery a bit bigger rather than smaller, but that was just my personal preference and I'm very happy with my results. Just make sure you have a clear line of communication with your surgeon.
