Underwire bra after BL

Interesting, I told mine that I never presented with rashes but had them just knew how to take care of them.  He filed anyway.  I wasn't hell bent on dealing with the appeals process - mostly because I just didn't have the kind of time as work was sending me all over the place, nor did I have documentation required.

Well the thing is, is that they do document the rashes and/or irritations and prescribe medication (topical antibiotics) for it.  But even if you had any kind of itching in that area, it was probably something going on.  Air can't circulate properly.  I'm one of the most hygenic persons you'll ever find.  Even when I weighed 345, the only thing you ever smelled of me were my nice fragrances and lotions.  I loved to take bubble baths/showers with fragranced creams and gels, and then layer with the lotions, body creams, powders, and finally the perfume.  That has never changed to this day!  LOL.  But, I did notice when I would bathe that I had redness or irritation in that area.  I'd called my dr.'s office and have them document it.  I didn't even take any pictures and neither did they.  When the ps sent for authorization for the surgery, I had my GP doctor send a letter of the documentation that they had, including the names of the medications they prescribed.

I'm sure that there is no time limit on getting the work done, and if you start to notice a rash or irritation, start to contact your physician about it, so that documentation can be made.

Well friend, just take it one day at a time.  Your turn will come.  It does take time to get some things done.  If the opportunity ever presents itself, I really would like to have my thighs done - even before a tt.  However, I won't hold my breath, and I'll be satisfied and happy with the way my body looks right now - which ain't so bad actually!  Anything is better than being 345 lbs again with all the problems that I had back then!  Thank you Jesus!  :)

I had a BL/BA a year ago and I started back wearing an underwire around 8 weeks out. You just want to make sure it doesn't hurt or rub too hard on your incisions. I also wore a sports bra to bed and still do. Without support your breasts can and will sag again and I'm making sure that I keep mine supported and try to slow that process as much as possible.

Thanks Renee.  I'm 5 weeks out, and so far it hasn't been too bad.  I always wore the underwires because they held the "tube socks" up better. LOL.  Right now, I only use the ones that have the wires wider apart so that I'm not "squeezed" together.  They don't rub on the incisions, but just rests under my breast.  I had the lift only, without any implants, so I know that my post op future may be a little different than yours - but then maybe not.  I've heard over time that the breasts do tend to sag again (sweet ole gravity), so care must be taken to help prolong the process.  I too sleep in a sports bra.  I feel better when I do.  I sleep on my side, but I don't sleep on my tummy at all - it's totally not comfortable.

I started exercising again, and because I was so sensitive when I walked (fast and on cement), I was told to use the underwire for more support.  So far it really has worked for me.  :)

I so appreciate everyones advice and input!  Thank you so much!  I pray for your continued success in your journey!

Hi Rose,
I am 11 weeks post op breast lift. I was given the ok at 8 weeks but only just  bought new bras a couple of days ago. I found some nice underwire bras at Target made by Gillian O'Malley that are really comfortable.  They rest just right and the underwire doesn't rub. I hope this helps.  I wish you many blessings my dear friend. I am so happy for you!

{{{Sandi}}} - it's SO good to hear from you - ALWAYS!  :)
I've been wearing some of my more comfortable underwires for the last couple of days, and I've not had a problem at all.  They have felt very comfortable.  The underwires are wider and they don't scrunch me together or push me up.  These have no padding (which I've never needed) at all.  LOL!  I will check out the ones that you recommend from Target.

Since my arm finally healed where the incisions tried to seperate, I feel so much better now.  God is SO good to me.  I was very worried for a moment, but I didn't stop trusting God.  I just thought that he might decide to heal in another way - more surgery - but He didn't.  I still have some swelling (more in my arm), but in time it will go away.  I'm drinking lots of fluids to push the extra out of my body.

I'm off work now so I'm on my way out the door.  It's so good to hear from you - just a pure delight for me!  I'm so glad that you're doing wonderful yourself!

I'll talk to you real soon!  Many blessings to you my wonderful friend! :)

Always,
Rose
