I had my consultation with my ps today. Seem like the only thing i'll be able to get is a breast reduction/lift. He dont feel my insurance will pay for a tt, the cost is too much for me topay out of pocket 7150.00!! I hope insurance will cover the br...i'm having it along with a partical hysterectomy. My questionto myself now is should i even do the breast reduction even if its approved. I'll still have a tummy but smaller breast...UGH!! disappointed!

Is the ps going to try for approval anyway?  If not, ask him to.  If they reject it, then you can always go through the appeals process.

As far as should you have the br done anyway - that's depends on you.  Why did you want it done in the first place?  Are you having back problems because of the size of your breasts?

If you're having all the problems associated with large breasts, then why would you not do it?

If you're not having all the problems, then if it were me, I probably wouldn't do it.  I'd focus on getting through the hysterectomy and re-visiting plastics at a later date.

You really have to think about what you want - and I know, it's not an easy decision.

Edited to add - I don't know how you feel about the hysterectomy but when I had mine, I got a lot of support and information from www.hystersisters.com.  There is a lot of info there as well as a lot of amazing women.

In many comments that I've read here, most of the time, insurance will not pay for tt UNLESS it is a "medical necessity".  As far as my own insurance (Blue Cross) they do not pay for what is considered "cosmetic", such as a tt, but they did pay for my panniculectomy because of the rashes and skin break-down.

Because in most cases of breast reduction, it has to do relieving severe stress and chronic pain on the back, many times it can be covered by insurance.  5 weeks ago, I had a breast lift covered, but only because of another breast issue which was deemed "medically necessary". I call my breast lift the wonderful "side effect" of the original problem.  :)

Now with that all being said, of course you must make your own decision.  However, if your situation were mine, if approved I would definitely have the breast reduction along with the partial hysterectomy.  It's so hard on the body to have multiple procedures in the first place.  Since there is no guarantee that you would be approved for the tt, I would go with what I did have approved.  Later on, after all of the other procedures are well healed and if you're approved for further plastics, then you're even ahead of the game.  That would be my decision for myself - if it were me.  I think you will regret "not" getting it over with, if in fact, you do have to deal with appeals for the tt.  Look at it this way...why not have beautiful breasts while dealing with the other stuff??  Lol...

I pray that everything works out for you.  These decisions can truly be difficult to make sometimes.  God bless ~ Rose

Thank you ladies for the responses. My breast does cause me problems..because of the sagginess and pulling i'm always feeling pain. My ob-gyn said its more than likely because of the size of my breast. So, I will go along with the procedure if approved. I'll hopefully for the first time in my entire life be able to wear a cute backless top with out A BRA!!!! and not step on my nipples!! LOL  Thanks again ladies!! God Bless...

How long before you see results of the BR? is it instant or you have to wait months to see the final results? a 36B? i know you are loving that!

You see the results instantly.  In fact, it was so strange to look at my "chest" and my breast are "standing" up instead of hanging down.  :)  Now as far as the settling in of the breast, my surgeon told me that it would take a few months for the scars to fade and for them to get the "born with" look.  It's been 5 weeks today, and I can tell that they are settling down, but still have more transitioning to do.  Nevertheless, I love the way they look and feel - nice and firm, but soft.

You are going to love it - I guarantee it.  Now I see why more women have made the comment that they love all of the work that they had done, but most of all the upper body (bl/ba) lifts.  It truly makes a difference in the best way!

Take care and God bless!
