Hi.  I am scheduled for a breast reduction with lift on Monday.  My insurance has agreed to pay it which I am thrilled about.  Does anyone know if it matters that my little friend will be here to.  I know that is a silly question but I forgot to ask the doctor?  I am also on the Ortho Evra Patch and just wondered if anyone has experience with surgery on being on it.  Thanks

My dr. required me to be off any type of medication for 30 days prior to surgery, so I took a break from Nuva Ring. I also had my period during surgery, and I believe due to the stress of surgery, my period was really light that month. Good luck!

You need to call your surgeon today to ask about the patch.  Some medications can effect your clotting factors.

Your period won't be a problem.  You'll be given mesh panties and a pad when you change into your OR gown.

You definitely want to call your ps' office now and ask about the birth control.  It's been years since I've been on birth control, but generally for surgey they want you off of everything that is not necessary or that can throw off the clotting.

I stopped birth control for my RNY, but for the last 4 surgeries I've had, I wasn't on it.
