Has anyone had alot of Lipo ( 8-10 pounds) removed and if so how bad was the recovery.   How long did the soreness last etc .  My Dr says all people are different ,that some have no pain at all , some have a bit but couldnt give me any idea as to how long that would last ...He keeps saying everyone is different when it come to Lipo. SOOOOOOOOOO
If you have had it, please chime in on how long ,difficuolt etc was the recovery or if it was not ..

Thanks .

I didn't have that much removed. I had lipo on my outer thighs as part of my  LBL. I can tell you that at 3 and 1/2 weeks out they are still sore with some numb spots. There was not a lot of "pain" just soreness.

I had my tummy lipoed (only about 5lbs) long before I need WLS. and had lipo with my recent BR (side boobs) and TT (love handles).

I can say it is the most painful part of my surgery recovery, but not unbarable pain. Just feels like a super deep bruise--VERY tender to the touch still and I'm 6 weeks out.

My prior tummy lipo was a bit more painful and felt so weird. Like I had a lake in my abs is the best way I can describe. I was up and about pretty quick though. Overall, that surgery took me a good two months to feel back to my old self.

I'm trying to visualize what the skin will look like after 8-10 pounds of fat is removed. It seems to me it would just be a lot more loose skin. As muffin stated, in most WLS patients the skin has been stretched so much and compromised and has lost it's elasticity. I had lipo with my inner thigh lift and I also had it with my brachioplasty (arm lift). Lipo in my experience was painful. It leaves you very sore. I felt like I had been beaten with a bat. The bruising goes deep and takes several weeks to completely heal.

i had 2 litersthat is probably about 4-5 lbs removed in November and the PS told me because of the lack of elasticity in WLS  skin i would have loose skin and I do but I knew I had to have surgery for my carpal tunnel & my PS can do that so I knew he would fix it when he does my hand, which is Monday.

I had a hysterectomy & abdominoplasty  12/08 and belly was perfect after about a year I noticed fat deposits above my BB which I never had before or that I could see. after my TT by breasts got bigger some people think I had implants but I didnt. I read somwhere on line that after PS your fat settles in other places. so my PS is going to just pull  my skin again into the previous scars when he does my hand.

the lipo made my bell ytender for months even now if my grandson kicks me in the belly ( he is only 2) it is sore. my belly felt swihy like jelly after it was done I wore compression garments for a while and it did tighten up a lot but it is still a little loose

good luck Susan

That is a lot of lipo. I've had a small amount of lipo done a couple of times but nothing major. The areas were sore for a while but not painful. This amount of lipo would probably knock me for a loop for sure.
