I've got a case of the blues
I had an anchor TT on June 5th. I'm 2 months out now and not happy with my results. I look at everyone's pictures on here and they're flat as can be. Don't get me wrong, they removed almost 6lbs of skin and compared to the before pictures my abdomen looks amazing. I'm just not happy with the reults. I feel like I look about 5 months pregnant. I swell like you wouldn't believe which I know can happen for up to a year. I guess I'm just bummed that I don't look the way I thought I would. I can't lose weight no matter what I do and I'm going through a divorce. Life just sucks right now :-(

Sorry you are going through such an emotional time. Please be kind to yourself now - extra protein and fluids especially to help keep you balanced. Don't give up on the TT swelling. Ask your doctor if he'll do revision work on you if it doesn't go down more like you want. Hopefully he'll be supportive. And it is still somewhat early out for you and hopefully the swelling goes away on its own. Hang in there. ((Hugs))

Just give it a little more time, but by all means discuss your disappointment with the surgeon. I do not mean to diminish your disappointment with your results but what may also be a factor here is a little post op depression. It is not uncommon for some folks to experience a bout of depression after surgery. The anesthesia, trauma of surgery, medications and other factors can all have an impact on one's emotions. Give yourself some time. And pay particular attention to taking good care of yourself. After surgery is not the time to get lax on taking your vitamins and eating your protein. And don't forget exercise. While you may not be able to go work out at the gym, you can take a walk.
I am sorry about the divorce but there will be better days ahead.

Do not give up hope. It may not be as bad as you think. I know after my first plastics I got a little depressed. They said its natural and happens to a lot of people. With all you are going thru you just might be being to hard on yourself. Some people can and do swell for a year. Try to see the improvement and not what you think it should be. I am finding stuff to complain about with mine, like my belly button is slightly off center. No one else would ever see that. We tend to be very hard on ourselves. Keep wearing the compression garment and it will get better. We are most likely never going to look like super models and shouldn't expect it. Hope you are feeling better.
I'm sorry you are feeling so bad but I just wanted to say "hang in there"! I also cannot see my final results yet due to swelling...and I am two months ahead of YOU! Some days I think I look like the Buddah!
My doc is gonna do a little revision on my upper abdomen; basically, just removing a little extra skin that causes a "pooch" above my belly button. However, he wouldn't even CONSIDER doing it before 6 months post-op because of the swelling. I may end up waiting even a bit longer if the swelling is still significant.
Be patient and keep coming to OH for support.

dont expect to see the results for about 6 months ,if they do a revision they make u wait until u r all healed & all the swelling is gon can even take up to a year. I consyantly took pictures and meaure my girth around the belly. I still do that after 18 months cause some days when i feel fat & bloated and get disgusted I pull out the tape measure and say to myself u r crazy ur measurements r still the same sothen i know it is in my head, cause my stomach muscle is so tight now that sometimes even when i have on loose clothing like PJ'S i can feel like my clothes r to tight and i have nothing on. lay off the salt also
good luck to you
