Hi, I am 9 years post RNY, have had 2 subsequent surgeries for bowel obstructions, all 3 OPEN surgeries. I am ready for my TT but would also like to have something done with my thighs.  Who has had lipo on thighs and are fairly happy with the results? I have Sharpei thighs, especially in the inside. Both consults think I might be fine with lipo, but what about the skin that's left once the fat is sucked out? Also, any recommendations for SF East Bay area surgeons? Thanks so much!

Liposuction does remove bulk but there are better ways to address bulk. Exercise diet or just learn to love it.  Anything is better than taking  the very great chance of ending up with third rate redundant lifeless formless eroded thighs. Learning to love it can't hurt because if all goes  well in your life and you are lucky enough to end up being an old person someday convalescing from something in or out of a nursing home you may be sorry you jeopardized you rtissue integrity by having liposuction and lack the  cushioning adipose provides to prevent  pressure ulcers aka bed sores.  ......Gee that was a really long sentence.

Hi Alf,

I know exactly what you are talking about.  I have had lipo and an inner thigh lift along with my lower body lift.  A lower body lift consist of the surgeon doing surgery on your lower half.

I must say the lipo and  the inner thigh lift are very painful and there can be complications like skin not forming the weigh it should among other things.  Probably the best thing to do would be to search the board here for SF East bay area surgeons and chat with those people who have used those surgeons.  Then the next step would be to visit their websites and maybe even their offices to see how the feel.  When one feels right make a consultation appointment.  Mainly because each surgeon is different.  It some cases you have your old school still doing old school ways and then you have new school surgeons doing it only the new way.

It my personal experience with my surgeon he is the perfect balance between a new and old school.  He is a younger doctor but knows both ways of surgery.

I hope this helps.
