Burning on TT scars area

I had an extended tummy tuck on 5/12 - 12 weeks ago - and last evening I had this searing, burning pain around my horizontal incisions. I pulled off all tape - Dr wanted me to keep paper taping for 12 weeks - and still no relief. I took off everything but panties and jammy top and greased up with Aquaphor but still wasn't comfortable. I nearly convinced myself it was shingles but before bedtime I felt relief and looked carefully and decided it was just irritation from the tape and heat so I smeared on Tri-Biotic and went to bed and it is nearly gone today. Just thought I'd share. I realized that I have more feeling in the areas that were numb before so I now believe it is nerves regenerating and that's a good thing!!!

I started having a reaction to paper tape too.  Luckily it was off from the incision line so I didn't have to worry about anything on the incisions.  My ps did not want me using anything on incisions except the cream he gave me.

I think you're right about the paper tape. I was never allergic to latex but now have had a reaction to real band aids and not the paper tape. It makes me so disgusted!!! But, thankfully, I'm far enough out to not tape any more. My doctor said tribiotics or Bacitracin was OK with him.
Thanks for the info,
Hugs.
