reduction mammoplasty
Also I wanted to get some opinions I am not sure if they are going to pay for my tummy tuck or even a paniculectomy? If not should I go ahead with the mammoplasty since the insurance will cover this? I cannot afford any out of pocket?
Oh and I forgot how bad is the mammoplasty and lift like recovery and pain wise. Thanks so much.
I had a reduction mammoplasty on May 6th, and yes a lift was part of it. It included the sides as well. Recovery, I was ready to go back to work in 10 days - 2 weeks. I did have a slight problem where on the one side it opened up between 2 stiches and drained for a few weeks, but even with that, it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. As far as recovery, the worst was the sides. I had stitches all the way back on both sides as my Plastic Surgeon took care of the excess on the sides as well. Usually that is considered part of the reduction mammoplasty as well. But, you may want to check on that! If you have insurance paying for that, I say go ahead and do that part!
As far as insurance coverage for tummy tucks and panniculectamy's-this is going to depend on your insurance. I have seen some pay for only the excess skin (the panni) and not the tummy tuck and I have seen some pay for both.
I know my reduction mammoplasty alone would have been almost $7K had I had to pay! Thank god insurance paid! I was a 36H and went down to a 36C!
