I'm scheduled for a TT (anchor) with a hernia repair on Sept. 1.  I'm so much more anxious about this than I was for my gastric bypass. Has anyone had these two procedures done together, and what was the recovery like? Thanks for any input!

Not specifically that, but during phase 1 (see my siggy for phase 1) I did have a hernia repair done.

Yes, it is exciting.

Good luck!

I had hernia repair during RNY and it wasn't bad so with the TT they tighten muscles anyway so I do not think it will be to bad. I wouldn't worry .

No hernia repair for me, but I had the anchor TT on 7/12 and I've done great.  I'm still tired, but I went back to work this week.  Recovery is more painful (or has been for me) than my RNY, but it's SO worth it.  Most irritating part was carrying around the drains til it was time for them to come out.  My incisions are still sore in spots, but are healing up very well.  Best wishes!

Yes.  I had both done about 7 weeks ago.  My WLSurgeon did the repairs.  I am so pleased with the surgery. He took off 9 pounds of skin. I had no problems after the surgery.  Could stand upright from the beginning and stopped pain meds by day 3.  I live alone but I was good taking care of myself. He had warned me that sometimes the interception point doesn't heal as quickly.  Of course that is me.  I keep doctoring it and it is better.  Taking antibotoics (2nd dose) but like the results.  The surgery was a breeze except I wasn't hungry for about two weeks.  That was okay!

Congratulations! That is very encouraging.....I will be thrilled if my experience is anywhere near yours!  Did you have a lot of drains?  Losing the weight has been a great blessing.....the extra skin...not so much! At this point, I just want to get it over with and get back to normal.....

I had three drains, all below the line.  Got two out within the first weeks out.  The other a week later.  They were a bother but kept telling myself that "this too will pass".
