Dr. Ayoub Sayeg, M.D in Michigan - surgery 8 -25 & freaking out!
I don't know what i really want to know. I guess i just want to hear from other people who have had a TT and inner thigh lift with Dr. Sayeg, and reassure me that he is good and i will be happy with this choice and that he isn't going F it up or anything. I'm so scared and nervious!!!!! I don't really know what to expect! Freaking out about the pain.
I have BCN and they are covering the TT but i'm paying out of pocket for the inner thigh lift. I haven't been on here, and i don't know what to do or where to start. Advice please!
First of all - don't freak out, it won't help. Get yoursel organized, now is a time to methodical in your planning. :)
You met with him and have your opinions - where they want you expect in terms of a good, open relationship with a doctor? this surgeon is going to be responsible for shaping the new you - have you clearly communicated with him what you want/expect? Has he clearly communicated to you want is reasonable? The risks?
You could also ask him for other patients that had the same procedures as you. Call the patients and ask them if they're satisfied, were their expectations met, etc. Of course if he provides the list, chances are they're going to be a bit biased.
Which leads me to the next step - check his board certification with the state of MI. Has he had complaints filed against him? Google his name, there are physician review sites out there. Also, check for reviews of him on OH.
A lot of your questions about your ps, should have been addressed before you decided he was the one you wanted. But it's still good to do your homework now. If you're that uncomfortable with your decision, you can cancel your sugery.
As far as what to expect with recovery, results, etc... take time and read all the previous posts. I think when I started, I read through at least 50 pages of threads. I didn't read every thread, just ones that I thought would answer my questions or give me specific insight.
Good luck.

Thank you for you're reply! I liked him and I went to him because of the wonderful reviews on this site. I did google him and some not so good reviews came up (like 1 or 2). He spent a lot if time with me at the consult, even tho I was late and he had to be somewhere, he wouldn't think of leaving till I was completely satisfied. His staff has been wonderful! I was like this before my DS too, I will be sure to read the posts when I get home tonight! It's such a big thing and I just want it done right!
If you feel comfortable with him and never feel rushed - then it sounds like you're in good hands.
One thing to remember when reading about everyone's recovery - it's going to be different for everyone. Some of the things that others had issues with, I did not. And vice versa. But everything you can glean from the threads will at least give you a heads up.
For the record, really good plastic surgeons are notorious for being extremely particular about their work - and that's a good thing for you. I have met quite a few because of the nature of my job, so I'm not just speaking in terms of being a patient.

I know that his office staff, whom I'm on friendly terms with, are using him to do their plastics. So that makes me feel better. his office is 3 hours away, so I've only seen him once, maybe that makes me uncomfortable, They have said that i can come in again and as many times as i want, but i haven't, cuz i don't have a lot of sick leave (I'm saving it from when I'm off) so i mostly talk to the staff over the phone.
I've planned on writing a letter to him describing what i want and either faxing it to him or bringing it in on surgery day because i have a feeling I'll be to nervous to remember anything! Plus, I'm going to go over it with my husband so he knows. I just want to be curvy when all is said and done. I've seen a lot of after photos where the girls look more like boys with no curves, and i don't want that. The staff says that the doc agrees, and does the "corset" thing to my muscles, so that's good. He's going to be taking off about 10-12 pounds from my stomach, so it's a huge surgery! and can't stand the thought of him F-ing it up!
Thanks so much for replying to me, my husband can only stand my neurotic chatter for so long :)

I think it might be worth it to take one day off to go see him prior to your surgery. IMHO, I think your piece of mind is worth the time. I saw my ps 3 times before my first surgery (1st the consult, 2nd a check on a hernia, and 3 the pre-op). I am only 30 minutes from his office but I travel for work so I had to coordinate my flights around his appointment times.
I totally understand the limited time off, but this really isn't something you want to panic about now. To be honest, I was completely fine/relaxed up until the morning of my first surgery - then it was a melt down up until I saw my ps in the holding pen. Then it was back to calm. I can't describe why but from what I've read, it's normal.
The fact that his office staff use him for their procedures, speaks volumes. With my ps, I had one nurse taking care of me tell me that he is the one she would use and another tell me that she never heard a bad word about him. Nurses are good sources of info about doctors.
You have a lot of good indications that you'll be in good hands. I think one more visit with him might really put you at ease.

Just curious I saw your posts on here and wondered if you were able to get your lower body lift and brachioplasty covered by insurance? I am post and am just starting my research. I have a consult setup but want to say the right thing in the hopes I can get BCN to cover both and possibly upper thigh lift too.
Thanks for anything you can tell me that will help!

Hi and congrats on this next step!
My ps submitted the paperwork but the response back was that although they agree that I needed it - the policy written for my company did not cover ps unless it was for reconstructive as a result of cancer.
Others here have had success with at least getting the panni party of the lbl covered. And a few have had some success with getting the arms covered.
Good luck!
