Lower Body SWELLING...OMG
So I THOUGHT I was prepared for swelling, but I'm not and I'm going insane, crazy, NUTS even!!
I am FINALLY the same weight I was the day of surgery (as opposed to when I got home from surgery and weighed 20lbs...yup TWENTY pounds more). My hands and legs and feet looked like the Klumps from the Eddie Murphy Nutty Professor...
Here I am those 20lbs are gone BUT my calves and feet are STILL swollen. I'm gestimating at least 10 more pounds.
HELP what can I do to help my legs. I elevate them at night and GREAT that are "almost" normal for 10 minutes when I get out of bed. I can't go on like this (dramatic pause).
Any ideas??

Hey Ms. Shell
I had a lower body lift 3 weeks ago. I am healing fine and all my drains are out. My doctor did suggest some type of compression garment like spandex. Like a fleexees from kohls or sweet nothings leggings from walmart.
I have heard good things about both. I am on the website now to see which ones the girls liked best.
I hope this helps. Also push fluids at least 8 glasses of water a day, and watch the salt.

Jasmine,
I am scheduled to have the following 3 procedures on December 15th:
*Lower body lift
*Breast augmentation with breast lift
*Full brachioplasty (upper arms)
Can you elaborate on how your surgery went and how your post-op recovery is going?
I will be off work for 18 days and return to work on the 19th day post-op.
Any info will be GREATLY appreciated.
Thx,
Marianne

I'm with you - my right leg swells more than my left though. Saturday DH & I spent the morning walking around Santa Monica. When we left to go to Venice (eventually gave up the idea of Venice beach) I realized that my right leg was huge. This was with me wearing sneakers.
I rested and in the evening we headed to Hollywood. I wore heels and we walked around for a couple of blocks (think from the Kodak theater to Frederick's of Hollywood ). When we got back to the hotel, there was very little swelling.
Also, in the morning, I had my leg wrapped for compression, in the evening I didn't. Go figure.
Our bodies are amazingly frustrating.
