Where to take the pics for documentation?

I don't really hold out much hope of getting approved for the panni part of my (eventual) TT, but in the interest of saving any $ I can, I need to document:

a) the rashes/marks/scars/scary stuff on my panni
b) see above, for the boobs

Is it better to lift everything up and take pics, let them hang and take the pics of that, or both?

The doctor's usually will document and the PS will take photos.  Honestly, I haven't heard of someone submitting their own photos, but I have heard of doctor's documenting.  The only way I got the panni removal approved is from documented information from my primary care physician.

I agree that the plastic surgeon will take the photos for you.  However, when my tummy tuck was denied by the insurance co., we took some really graphic, close-up photos and sent them in with our appeal.  I  hate to think what the poor insurance guy thought when he saw those!  We won the appeal and I had my tummy tuck in Nov.
  Good luck with it all!

My PS took my pictures and submitted them to the insurance company.  The insurance company "lost" them so the PS had to resubmit.   I did get my panni done on 7/6.

You could probably take pics yourself for your own records.  I have. Keeps me focused.

Blessings,

Nina

My ps took photos on my consult visit.  As for the hx of rashes, etc, your PCP should have everything in your charts for times you presented with rashes.  Your ps will be able to tell you what all has to be gathered for their submission and possibly the appeal.

I'd still take some of your own snapshots. Reason being is things always seem to get better right as you've gotta go to the doctor for them. So have your own pics and then the PS's pics and ask that they be included with the documentation. Also you'd want to show more of everything lifted up because they could care less about the skin hanging that they think you can live with. They want to see the effects of it. Because some people get no rash at all there and they can be denied. I know all of this because in my support group meeting they had PS come to give us the skinny on TT and arm lifts etc.
