How quick did you recover after an arm lift?

I had plastics on July 12th-  arm lift, tummy tuck (anchor cut), breast lift, pube revision. I am cut from end to end. Ouch!

I'm at the 2.5 week mark but it feels like I take one step forward, two steps back. Don't get me wrong, I am more mobile now than I was last week, but my arms still hurt like hell- especially when I lift them or try to put on a shirt.

Think this will get better soon? The arms are very tender, achey, and the only time i dont ache is when they are rested on pillows.

Just need some encouragement from others who have had an arm lift. The arms are worse than the anchor cut on my tummy!

I also had my arm lift and tummy tuck done together.  The only time I was really in pain was when I would sit up, lay down, sit down or stand up because you need your arm and stomach muscles for those movements.  Once I was either up or down my pain stopped, I was achie all the time but not in what I would call pain except during those times.  I went back to work with lifting restrictions after 3 weeks and by week 6 I had no more pain or achieness at all.  They were still swollen for about 3 months but the pain was gone.

Thats good to know... so maybe by week 6 I will start to feel 'normal' again. It is just so uncomfortable to put on a shirt or reach for anything with my arms. I want the discomfort to go away since I am closing in on 3 weeks. I'd be curious about how others have recovered as well.

I hope you are now enjoying the 'new you'.

You had a lot of surgery done at one time.  I had my arms done and the recovery was pretty easy -- but I did not have anything else done at that time.  Just rest and follow your surgeon's instructions and soon you will be feeling lots better.

My arms (especially the arms pits) were tender for 4-6 weeks.  It will get better!  I'm about 10 weeks out now and no longer experience any pain or limitations in movement.  Hang in there!  It helps me to know that you are finding the arms tougher than the TT since that is down the road for me.
