Does anyone have Blue Shield of Ca PPO?  I am interested in knowing if anyone has been able to get coverage for a medical necessary panniculectomy?  If so, how easy or hard was it to get it covered?

Thanks!

What were the reasons they gave you for denial?  Thank you!

I have Anthem Blue Cross/Shield PPO. They didn't cover anything but the armlifts. I am currently appealing the other procedures and waiting to see what they say.

Thank you.  What reason did they give for your denial on the panni?

I have bcbs of ca it covered my TT.  I had to be 18 months post op, have lost 100 lbs, bmi of 30 or less and a steady weight for 6 months.  It was approved in 2 weeks.  I had my surgery 4 weeks ago.  I worked in surgery for 18 years and the Dr. that did mine did a little extra from what they would pay for like liposuction.  We are submitting the stuff for my arms today.  Good luck! :D Lou

I just had my revision so with those qualifications I will have to wait until late next year.  But at least I know there is hope of getting the coverage.  Thank you!
