Hospital Stay?
Ok I am scheduled for brachio, lipo on upper abdomen and a revision on my mons area. The surgeon is leaving it up to me if I want to stay overnight or not. For my tummy tuck I did stay overnight but won't this round of surgery be a bit easier...you all have any opinions?

I had a tummy tuck and a breast lift...which I realize is very different than brachio and such.. but what I can say about my experience with staying at the surgery center was that I would rather have been at home so I could get a solid night's sleep. They woke me up at like midnight to take my cathetor out.. then again a little later to take out my IV, then 2 hours before the doctor came to release me to get me dressed and ready to go, and then again when the doctor got there. I found that part to be very frustating because all I wanted to do was sleep. I would have understood if it were taking vitals or drawing blood or something that was necessary for my care, but it was instead just steps in the going home process, which could have been done all at one time.
The only thing that may make it a bit of a challenge is the lipo, but as long as you're okay with being able to get up and down on your own, then you might want to go home. I would think the arms and mons shouldn't give you much of a problem.
For me personally, I would stay the night. I only say that because my normal heart rate is low, but after anestethia it can drop even lower. For me, it's better to stay where there will be immediate response if the heart rate does drop. My procedures were rather large where I definately needed more than one person helping me up the first couple times. I also can't always predict now how anesthesia will react with me - all (4) surgeries up until the this last one I had no problems. This last one, I woke up dry heaving in the recovery room and that lasted until about 7 AM the next morning. I find that as I get older I'm not quite so predictable - but then again, it does make me unique, especially to the medical community.
