silicon tape

My PS wants me to begin applying silicon tape and to alternate that with silicon gel. I already have bought gel, but the CVS pharmacy I went to didn't have the silicon tape.

A while back on this forum someone had posted some really great resources for silicone tape that is easy to apply and that stays put. If anyone has any web links or product info, I'd be most appreciative!

My PS likes the Epi-Derm strips (well, sheets that I cut).  You can get them from Make Me Heal or directly from their website (biodermis.com).  Good luck!

For the short term, I've seen silicone tape at Walmart.

My doc has me using Mepiform.  It's pricey, but thin as a bandaid and lasts for quite a long time.  You don't have to wa**** daily as with some; it's waterproof, it comes off cleanly and painlessly.  I found it for less than the manufacturer's website price through Amazon.com, yet it ships directly from tbe mfgr.  Go figure!  I alternate with ScarGuard MD or use one or the other depending on the area of the body, and my doc also wants massage with Palmer's Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E cream to help moisturize and flatten the scar.  All of the above work, alone or together.
