Whew - right leg update
So after my appointment last week with my ps in checking out my legs and discussing the possibilties, potential courses of treatment, I went back today after being on antibiotics since last Thursday.
Now, over the course of the weekend, the upper part of my right leg got a lot better to the point where it looks like the left one. The lower area by my knee on the right leg is slightly better but very tender, puffy and red. He confirmed the top part was fine and for the lower part, confirmed that it was a seroma.
His first thought was to just aspirate, but then he thought it would be better to open the incision and pack it since I start traveling on Sunday. He'll see me again on Thursday to check the progress. He also extended my antibiotics and gave me for pain (nothing heavy duty as I still have to work).
When he opened the incision, the amount of fluid that came out was amazing. The pressure and tightness I felt in my leg eased up greatly with having the fluid drained. DH was in the room with me so when he was showing me how to pack it, DH watched so he would know too.
I absolutely love my surgeon and would not have wanted anyone else.

Trust me, I'm not going to over do it. I need to be in good shape to get on a plane.
We talked about massage prior to the first round of surgeries and he said then that it's up to me, but it's not something that he generally prescribes. The left leg is doing really good, I'm suspecting that the issues with the drain I had in the right helped exacerbate this problem.
I have to say, overall, my recovery has been going pretty smooth. As frustrating as this seroma is, it'll be manageable.

Glad to hear you are doing better Lisa. Like everyone else, don't over do it. I hope your healing will go uneventful from today foward.
Blessings,
Nina
